Giving Back to Build a Better Community

At DeKalb Community Hospital we are dedicated to providing quality healthcare to you and your family. At the same time, we have a deep commitment to give back and support the community that we live in and do business. We hope that in sharing our resources we can contribute to a better way of life for all of us.

As part of our mission, we invest in the work of many charitable organizations. We award financial support to those we feel are in line with our mission and vision, and in those we believe we can help to make a real difference.

American Cancer Society
Alexandria Senior Center
DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce
DeKalb County Sherriff’s Association
DeKalb County Senior Citizens Center

The Community Sponsorship Process

Through its annual budgetary process, DeKalb Community Hospital will set aside funds to support requests from the community. Requesting community organizations are asked to complete a proposal for consideration. Once we receive a proposal we will review it and the requesting organization should hear back within 3 weeks. If we need additional information, we will contact the organization directly.

Criteria for Sponsorship

DeKalb Community Hospital is very selective in the events and programs it sponsors. Our good name and reputation is associated with coordinating organizations and with the event itself and must reflect positively. We consider requests based on what resources are available at the time of the request, and whether the request meets the hospital’s goal of helping develop a safe and healthy community.

The event/program must be in alliance with the hospital’s mission and vision.
Preference will be given to sponsorship opportunities that have a direct health care focus or benefit.
Preference will be given to sponsorship opportunities with organizations that the hospital has financially supported previously.

Those excluded from consideration are groups with little impact on DeKalb County, political groups or candidates, religious groups or special interest groups espousing a religious or other message not in line with DeKalb Community Hospital’s mission.
